Wish Big...

So how many of you have bought a blank canvas or two at the local craft store....and later wondered 'what am I going to do with this now?'  Well, I've got something super fun and decorative for you.  I hope you like it :-)

I had been dying to color up Lisbeth with Balloons.  So, without much thought about what the project would be, I started water coloring.  I had a ton of fun playing with multi-colored balloons :-)  But, when it was all done, Lisbeth was super colorful, but her background was really plain.  So.......I began to doodle.  Before I knew it, I had these black swirls all around Lisbeth....but it looked too heavy.  So......I grabbed a white marker and started making dots!  What else?  And it started taking on a vintage carnival-like theme.  With an image full of bright color and a bold background....I couldn't simply put her on a card!  It had to be something I took a look around my studio and found a canvas that had been waiting for forever for me to notice.

The driving color for the paper selection is the purple in the balloons.  It's a gorgeous violet.  My fave papers these days are by Maja and I have a ton of them from fact, a whole stack of them!  I grabbed a 12x12 sheet and started tearing it into pieces.  Then I grabbed some Mod Podge and started sloppin' it on!  But what could I do to make the image pop off the page???

I had been looking for another opportunity to play with the new LDRS Designer Dies!!!  And this was my chance!!!  Now, I used them A LOT on this project!  Can you spot them all on my canvas???

Wish Big

Lisbeth is matted with a purple die cut from the Darling Squares die set, using smaller square die.  It is then further matted with the larger square die, with it's intricate, vintage lacy details.  You can see the individual pic of the larger square below...

Here is a close-up of the image and mattes.  I added some black paint to the edges of both.  I also threaded a beautiful ribbon through the oval cutouts in the larger square and tied a bow at the bottom.  Everything also got a bit of distress ink rubbed in for a bit of age.

And how about that awesome sentiment???  It's from our Vintage Birthday sentiment set.  I stamped it, cut it out, and glued it to the back of the frame.

Can you spot more Designer Dies in this pic?  That gorgeous view finder is our Lovely View die....but it's tricked out with a stunning vintage Victorian flare....and it's yummy!!!  Those beautiful flourishes in white and purple are also from the  Darling Squares die set.  They are so delicate and add just the right amount of 'stunning' to this canvas.

So, in short, when you don't know what else to do with a canvas....pull out your LDRS stamps and dies....grab a bunch of lace and flowers and stuff...and start gluing them all over the place until you come up with one gorgeous, shabby chic piece of amazing artwork that you can hang on a wall in your home and admire for many days to come.  Now I need to find that perfect spot on the wall in my studio so I can enjoy this canvas while I'm bringing my next vision to life!

Thank you for joining me...

Angie xoxo

Izzy's Bunnytime Tote Bag...Available for Purchase!!!

Hello Everyone!

I was playing around a little while back, trying out some new LDRS product ideas, and I came up with this tote bag.  I had painted this adorable CandiBean image 'Izzy's Bunnytimewith watercolors and I thought about how cute she was just sitting in the park reading a book to her little bunny friends!  I thought she would be super adorable on the front of a tote bag...for me...or anyone!  I have shown this bag to some of my friends and they all want one!

So I thought I would make it available...for a short time...

This is a white cotton canvas bag.  It measures 13.5" tall x 13.5" wide x 3" deep (not including the strap) and is very sturdy.  If you are interested in one, email me HERE.  They cost only $14.99 + actual shipping.  I will send you a PayPal invoice once I calculate the shipping cost to your address.  We ship to anywhere in the world.  Your actual bag will not have the watermark that I had to add to this photo.

I really LOVE this bag!  I've been using it to carry all kinds of things around......craft supplies, books, papers, etc.  It's great for kids too!  They can carry their school supplies, trinkets and toys to a friends house, their own beach a towel, sandals, sunscreen, and sunglasses.  It's both versatile AND adorable!

NOTE:  This is not a 'do it yourself project'.  The LDRS Angel Policy restricts the use of electronic alteration, copies, or transfers.  This canvas bag is a licensed product of LDRS.

This is a closeup of 'Izzy's Bunnytime', handpainted with distress ink markers and water.  I did not add my usual shadows and background to this image because of the plan to use it on another object.

Thank you all for joining me today!  I hope I inspired you in some way :-)
